Beware Paint Fumes!

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my little space here.
There are probably hundreds of nail blogs out there, many of which are fabulous! So why do my own? Well, number 1: it helps me keep track of what I've done. Number 2: I use mostly inexpensive drug store brands of polish, so anything I have you can easily have too. And number 3: I am not a professional, I make a lot of mistakes! If my struggling and fighting with some designs can make someone else not feel so bad about not getting it flawlessly executed, but still feel like they have a fantastic manicure, then I am a happy girl!

Spring Flowers

Spring calls for bright, cheery prints, and nails are no exception. Granted, we're not truly into spring yet, but my day lilies are starting to sprout, and my lilac is starting to bud, so can't help feeling close to it.
And since floral prints are always appropriate for spring, this was my manicure last week. (I'm a slow poster lately!)

Red Team Captain

I am involved with a local group and last night was my first time on stage (with this group). It was nerve-wracking, exciting, sweat-inducing, and loads of fun all at the same time.
I always feel that good nails give a confidence boost, so as I was the captain of our red team fun red nails were in order.
Just please ignore my poor broken little nail.

Slacking has been my middle name

I have been painting my nails, but have been either too lazy to take a pic, or didn't like it enough to brag about it.
So here is my manicure from a few days ago.
I painted my nails white, and then used a gold sharpie to doodle lace-like designs on the nails. Finish with a top coat, and there ya go!

Flamingo nails for Mingo

Years ago when I first dyed my hair pink, my now 11 year old nephew was 3, and when he saw my hair he dubbed me Aunt Flamingo-head, since he thought I matched the Flamingos he had recently seen at Seaworld. Over time that evolved to Aunt Flamingo, then Aunt Mingo, then to just Mingo.
So, it is about time that I did my nails to reflect the Mingo moniker.
